Octagon’s Technology Innovations Team has developed a methodology for implementing ViewPoint that hinges on our technical and business process expertise while ensuring a smooth knowledge transfer throughout the course of the project. The ViewPoint Implementation Methodology is a combination of Phases and Focus Threads. Our six-phase approach enables clients to benefit from a structured implementation by starting with a focused business area. Methodology threads provide clarity and focus on important areas or groups of tasks that potentially can facilitate project structure, key deliverable identification and overall general awareness of critical path activities. Each of the five threads has applicability across project phases.
The ViewPoint Implementation Services Methodology is specifically targeted toward the activities, steps, and deliverables involved in the deployment and use of ViewPoint. Octagon’s success in delivering robust, reliable solutions is due in part to the use of our methodologies. This methodology is oriented toward the application of real world techniques to design and manage a software implementation engagement. It incorporates our "best practices" approach and draws on our considerable experience in designing and delivering mission-critical submission applications. To maximize success, the ideal implementation team consists of Octagon technology and process experts working jointly with client team members to support specific business and technical activities.

Project Initiation & Planning Phase –Implementation team captures and outlines project value, objectives, scope and approach. The team also identifies key project personnel, establishes technical planning requirements and communication channels and identifies risks & assumptions.
Process Mapping & Solution Configuration Phase – The goal of this phase is to understand and map client’s processes to ViewPoint configuration requirements. The team focuses on identifying and defining the external document and data integration points. Requirements are documented in a Process Mapping and Configuration (PMaC) document. The solution configuration then involves tailoring the ViewPoint application to the specific client business process requirements.
Solution Delivery Phase – This phase includes base environment planning according to technical requirements, validation planning and installation at client site.
Validation Finalization and Training Phase – This phase includes ViewPoint qualification activities for Production rollout as well as client user training. Preparations of training, completion of validation and production setup, and delivery of training occur in this phase.
Rollout and Business Support Phase – This phase focuses on activities required to support a successful “Go-Live.” Before, during and after training, Octagon provides onsite support to individual users and project groups.
Project Close Out Phase – This phase focuses on project wrap up activities including evaluation of key performance metrics and resolution of outstanding issues.
