Octagon has developed a strategy to allow our submission management solution to connect to various content management systems utilizing lower level software. ViewPoint® Connector is standalone software that is also available as an optional module to our flagship submission management solution, ViewPoint®.
ViewPoint Connector addresses the challenge of document and data integration by enabling organizations to connect various sources of information using over 40 different methods. ViewPoint Connector gives developers the flexibility to connect to these systems with a single unified interface. Functions that are supported include setting and retrieving content, metadata, as well as importing/exporting content. The following content management systems are supported for this initial release:

- OpenText Livelink 9.7.1
- Oracle Content DB 10.2
- Microsoft SharePoint 3.0
ViewPoint Connector is a layer that sits over proprietary API toolkits to provide a single unified access point to pieces of content and metadata across various repositories. It enables two-way communication, respects security defined within the CMS and offers a robust error handling scheme.
